Reached My 6 Month Mark!

Hey Everyone -

The past three weeks have actually been pretty cool!  I've had ups and downs but  August 2nd was my 6 month mark which was AWESOME!  I can't believe I've reached my 6 months.  We had transfers just about 2 weeks ago.  I had Elder Gonzales as my companion and now I have Elder Verdugo.  He is super cool but likes to sleep in a lot.  We are working a ton, just calling A LOT of people. It's a little different in this part of Mexico.  We are in Orange Covid Status so we can't eat at member's homes or visit them anymore which really stinks.  Oh, I also transferred to a completely new area.  My whole mission I've been in the Celaya area and now I'm in Marques which is an area in the city of Queretaro.  It's kind of hard because we don't get many references.  It feels like my day to day stuff is all the same, like Groundhog day every day.  It's also funny because I feel like I'm in a dreamland or a set like The Truman Show because I'm in a neighborhood where literally all the houses look the exact same.  They are pretty nice though so I like it.

Right now we are teaching these two ladies named Osiris and Odeydiss.  They are two sisters and their mom is baptized.  Sometimes we have our struggles with them but I think one of them is progressing and one is not.  But we are just making our way slowly, but surely.  Honestly, all the other days are kinda just the same old stuff, long and boring because we can't do much.  Basically, all day we just call and text people who show interest on Facebook or the church's website.  Oh, a bunch of new Americans came last transfer when I got to Marques.  26 new American missionaries!  In my house I'm living with two other American guys and my comp.  They are: Elder Allred came from the SLC mission and was waiting to come to Mexico and Elder Rowberry who is from SLC.  They are really cool comps and we all live in this house.  It's the cleanest house I've lived in so far on my mission!  On our last P-Day, we went rock climbing and then went out for sushi.  We found this abandoned house on the way home and took some pics.  It was fun.  I will send some pics!  My spanish is getting better.  I always get compliments from others when I speak spanish and that makes me feel really good!  But I'm still having a hard time understanding when others talk so fast.

Thank you for reading my emails.  I want to share a cool scripture story with you.  Remember when Ammon was teaching King Lamoni and he did all of the tasks he was asked to do with obedience?  He worked upon what King Lamoni knew and taught him with such faith.  I'm trying to have faith like that.  It helps when I'm in the thick of the drudgery and monotony of the work down here.

Love you all.  Please email me :)
