Elder Chamberlain in Cortazar

Hey everybody!

Thank you for being patient with my emails. I know I don't write them very often but we've been very busy in the work and we've had some amazing experiences since the last time I wrote.

To start on a good note, we baptized our good friends Arturo and his wife Rosa. They have a lot of faith and I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to teach them and lead them on the right path. This coming month, we're looking forward to helping a lot more people on the covenant path. I've seen my teaching skills increase a lot over time and I can understand and speak Spanish very well. I love talking to people and hearing their stories, what they do/did, who they are/were, etc. One of my favorite things is seeing people smile. I'll sometimes make myself look dumb in order to make someone else smile or laugh. It's like an addiction haha I love it. You get cool experiences when you're a missionary. For example, we went to some members' house and I thought about sharing a message about forgiveness. They thought we had read their minds because they had been struggling to forgive some people. It's beautiful explaining God's love for us and Jesus's atoning sacrifice for us so that we can forgive all and leave it to Him.

My testimony has grown more in these past few months with my comp Elder Greenhalgh. He's a kind person and very willing to work and be obedient; it's awesome. I'm thankful to have a comp who is like my friend. We've been working really hard and have seen some good success. We've also had our downs with the mish. It's hard hearing about and knowing of people who are victims of terrible things in this world such as drugs, human-trafficking, gangs, murder, etc. The world truly needs to hear the word of God, and that's why we're here. We are literal representatives of Jesus Christ, and I'm trying to use every moment I can to try to be a good example of Him. I want to thank all of my friends and family for always being such a big support for me and for their prayers. They help so much. Through tough times, the Lord will help us and will make us strong. It could require a little effort from us too, which is why the Lord wants us to be strong. Strong in the face of evil. Action in the presence of fear. I absolutely love Moroni's words in one of my favorite scriptures (Moroni 8:16): "Behold, I speak with boldness, having authority from God; and I fear not what man can do; for perfect love casteth out all fear."----Always humble, but always confident in Him and His power, not ours.

The work here is so challenging which makes it so much more fun. I love missionary work now haha. One invitation to everyone reading this is to reach out to someone who you haven't talked to in a while. Please do it! Time goes by so fast. I love you guys and if you ever need something, shoot me a text or email. Thank you!
